About Edinburg Housing Authority

The Edinburg Housing Authority was formed in 1949 as a result of federal, state and local action. It is one of the largest in the Rio Grande Valley, third to only Brownsville and Harlingen housing authorities. Five board members are appointed by the mayor to two-year terms to govern the agency.

Mission Statement

To serve the needs of the low-income, very-low income and extremely low-income families in the Housing Authority's jurisdiction by making available decent, safe and affordable housing and providing opportunities for self-sufficiency.
